Haiti! I have arrived

Hello Everyone!

I have officially arrived in Haiti!  It has been an amazing experience so far.  I have some really good video to share with all of you, but just one of the many problems here is a slow internet connection and uploading a 2 minute video said it will take 7 hours!  So hopefully we will figure out a better way to get things out to you.

In the meantime... here is a quick update.

After we arrived on the airplane we drove through the devastation, rubble, tents, chaos, and heat to see our first refugee tent city in Petion-ville.  I loved interacting and playing with the kids.  They always give you the most hope when you are hearing about and witnessing tragedy all around you.  Then we came down to the MINUSTAH compound where all the United Nations and their affiliated programs are housed.  We met up with the International Organization for Migration, The World Food Program, United Nations Childrens Emergency Fund, and a Lt. Col. of the U.S. Military to discuss the ins and outs of disaster recovery and relief programs here in Haiti.  Then we set up meetings to go out with these groups to witness firsthand, and to show all of you, where your money is going when you donate to these organizations.

I stayed up late cutting video to share with all of you, but am having trouble posting them... se la vie.
